A local teacher notified police in Independence Township after seeing two children walking down Route 46 who had fled from a “hostile environment” on Feb. 11, authorities said.
Officers subsequently responded to the Great Meadows home of Brian Nardone, 36, who was “heavily intoxicated and unaware of where the children were,” according to police.
Nardone was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after a follow-up investigation by multiple state agencies.
He was taken to the Warren County Jail.
